About Us

Wroes are a long standing and established family business deeply committed to giving customers the best possible choice, value, and service over a wide range of products.

Earliest records of the business date to 1919 where a lease was granted for a small electrical shop, located in the Strand Shopping Centre, Bude. During the 1930's this electrical shop diversified to become a clothing shop. In 1946 this business was then bought out by the grandparents of the current managing directors. It is from this point that Wroes has steadily expanded and developed into the business that it is today, selling a huge range of products for everyday life, across 3 stores in Cornwall.

Wroes' core values of choice, value and service remain at the forefront of the business and have remained unchanged despite the challenging retail environment and the enormous change Wroes has encountered throughout the years. These core values are constantly reviewed and improved on to enable the business to move forward year on year and are of paramount importance to the Directors and the staff. Along with these core values Wroes are firm supporters of local charities and fund raisers. Many an event has been hosted or supported by Wroes to raise money for local and national charities.

Wroes strives to stand out from the blandness and similarity of other chain department stores by carefully reviewing and selecting products that are of high quality, relevant, interesting and varied for all customers.

WEEE (Waste Electronic and electrical equipment)

Wroes has paid into the WEEE Distributor Take Back Scheme, thereby fulfilling their distributor obligations as a member. As such we encourage customers to recycle their electrical waste and offer further information via the website www.recycle-more.co.uk which gives details of all sites locally with this provision.

Batteries may be disposed of through the recycling centres or more conveniently at the local supermarkets.
