About Wroes

We are a long established family business deeply committed to inspiring our customers with the best possible choice value and service.

Earliest records of the business date to 1919 when a lease was granted for an electrical shop in the Strand in Bude. At some time in the thirties it became a clothing shop. The business was bought on 1946 by the grandparents of the current generation. Since then Wroes has steadily expanded and developed into a substantial company with a wonderful modern department store and three further shops.

Despite the enormous changes to both Wroes and the British High Street over this time our core philosophy of choice value and service has remained unchanged. Our location in small towns has enabled us to take these traditional values and constantly modernise and improve their delivery so that we can offer an interesting and varied alternative to the blandness and similarity of today's chain stores.
